Ever wondered if you are raking a bunker correctly on the golf course?
Well you have arrived at the right place as golf social media sensation and +4 handicap Paige Spiranac is here to help you improve your on-course etiquette.
Nothing is worse than getting into a bunker and seeing your ball in someone else’s footprint, so I’m going to show you guys how to rake the bunker,” said Spiranac.
“So first off you have to have a good split grip on the rake and get a good solid base and you from there you want to push it out quickly, speed is key here, and then slowly drag it back.
“That’s how you rake a bunker.”
Paige’s four key takeaways to rake a bunker on the golf course:
- Split grip for better control
- Wide base stance
- Speed while pushing out then light and controlled on the way back
- Take your time to make sure the bunker is in good condition for the next group (good golf karma)
Spiranac recently admitted she is playing the best golf of her career in 2024.
Spiranac did once attempt to pursue a career on the LPGA Tour but she came up shy just under 10 years ago now.
Instead she has continued to work in the sport via social media and YouTube.
Paige recently competed in the PGA Tour’s Creator Classic where she finished in the middle of the pack at East Lake.
