Nowhere is like home, and Simona Halep felt this to the full. After celebrating the Wimbledon triumph at the National Arena, the holder of two Grand Slam titles came to present the trophy won in the final with Serena Williams to the people of Constanta.Â
There was an event where Simona paraded on board a double-decker bus, took a bath from the crowd, was applauded on the open stage both on the street and at the ceremony in Ovidiu square. The player who started tennis in Constanţa at the urging of her brother has not forgotten where she took her first steps in the sport that brought her so much joy.
“I am very happy, I will always remember this image, I will take it with me everywhere in the world. I wish you all the best and a beautiful summer!” , said Simona Halep at the end of the festivities.

Simona Halep promised the people of Constanta that she wants a medal at the Olympics
Simona Halep did not want to remain indebted to those who came to congratulate her. Simona told how she felt after each Grand Slam title she won and now she decided to bring an Olympic medal to her hometown.
“The most beautiful tournament remains Roland Garros! Tennis was formed at Wimbledon, it is a completely different tournament, to be honest I never thought I would win, because it is played on grass. My mother dreamed that I could win and I am very happy that I succeeded. It was different from Roland Garros, I felt a fulfillment of my career, I don’t want to stop there.
My main goal is the Olympics, I want a medal! I always play for ConstanÈ›a, I want to bring a medal next year so we can all enjoy it,” declared Simona to the cheers of the spectators.
