The WTA125 tournament in Bucharest proved a success. The trophy stayed at home. The winner was Miriam Bulgaru, with the most important performance of her career. The course was a winding one, a complicated semi-final with Ekaterine Gorgodze, score 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

The final, finished just before the rain came, lasted a little over two hours. The tricolor athlete needed a decisive set to overcome Kathinka von Deichmann, from Liechtenstein. The winning shot also had a dose of chance, the ball cushioned by the tape of the net.
Miriam had special supporters. Ion Țiriac applauded the triumph on his feet. At the awards ceremony,Bulgaru was photographed between Nadia Comăneci and Simona Halep. The emotions during the speech were natural:
What a day for me, for us Romanians! You have made me happy by coming here in such large numbers. I thank our greatest athletes, Simona, Sorana, Nadia, Mr. Țiriac. Thank you for coming.
