Simona Halep (30 years old, 19 WTA) won the duel against Amanda Anisimova (20 years old, 25 WTA) with a score of 6-2, 6-1 and qualified for the semifinals of the Bad Homburg tournament
Simona Halep started the match with a break, and after a few split games between the two players, the Roland Garros and Wimbledon champion managed another break against the American and closed the first set with a score of 6-2.
Halep clearly dominated the second set as well. The Romanian started with two consecutive breaks, and in the last game of the match, Simona managed another break and ended the match with a score of 6-2, 6-1, after 55 minutes. In the match with Amanda Anisimova, Simona Halep managed no less than 10 aces.
In the semifinals of the tournament, Simona Halep will meet Bianca Andreescu (64 WTA), the Canadian player with Romanian origins.
