This second coming together between these two heavyweight greats is set for December 21 and will see them battle it out for three of the four major world titles
It was Usyk who came out on top on the scorecards the first time they met back in May. It was a close fight that had plenty of back and forth between the two then-unbeaten men, but Usyk managed to impose himself more, particularly in the 9th round. It was in that round he landed his biggest punch and sent Fury to the ropes to receive a count from the referee.
Fury had good success of his own but many believe he was hampered by confusing corner work which saw him given mixed instructions.Despite this, he has vowed to keep the same team in place in December.
Speaking to talkSPORT Boxing ahead of the much-anticipated fight, former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is backing Fury to reverse the result as long as he doesn’t ‘play around’ too much.
Hey listen, Usyk surprised everybody. I think Tyson Fury played around too much.
I think he needs to be taking fights serious and hopefully he’ll get a different result.”
Fury has his hands full with technically gifted Ukrainian southpaw Usyk, who was the Olympic Gold medalist in 2012, then became the undisputed cruiserweight champion in 2018 and added the undisputed heavyweight honours to his list with his victory in May, all within just 22 fights.
