Simona Halep (30 years old, 23 WTA) ended her collaboration with coaches Adrian Marcu (60 years old) and Daniel Dobre (52 years old) and is looking for a new mentor to help her return to the top of the WTA list.
Halep is in no rush to appoint a new partner and will go without a coach at the Dubai and Doha tournaments, scheduled for February and broadcast LIVE on Digi Sport, but Polish media claim that the former world leader is in talks with Piotr Sierzputowski (29 years old).

Sierzputowski coached Igai Swiatek for five years, during which the Polish player won the Roland Garros title and reached the WTA Top 5. The two broke up in December last year and, according to sportowefakty.wp.pl , the coach is the favorite to replace Adrian Marcu and Daniel Dobre in Simona Halep’s staff.

Simona Halep’s decision to sack her coaches may have something to do with her elimination from the 2022 Australian Open by Alize Cornet after a match that lasted two hours and 33 minutes and was played in infernal heat at over 33 degrees in the shade.
In that match, in which she complained of cramps, the athlete scolded her staff for not encouraging her in difficult moments. “Simo” scolded her collaborators, including her husband Toni Iuruc. According to other information, the “rupture” between the former world leader and the two coaches would have occurred due to ineffective communication.
What’s next for Simona Halep after elimination from the Australian Open
Upon returning to the country from Melbourne , Simona Halep  announced her plan  for the next two months, during which she will play in Dubai, Doha, Indian Wells, Miami and Charleston, competitions that will be broadcast live by Digi Sport channels.

Simona Halep will have a period of approximately three weeks of break until the next tournament she will participate in, the one in Dubai, which will start on February 14.
Starting from February 20, Simona Halep will be present in Doha, and from March she goes to the United States for Indian Wells, March 9 – 20, and Miami, March 22 – April 3.
WTA Charleston, where Simona Halep announced her participation for the first time, will take place from April 4 to 10 and will mark the start of the clay season for the athlete from Romania.
