Simona Halep returned to Romania: “I still have many years ahead of me, I’m not sad”

Aged 25, Simona Halep confessed that it is not a tragedy that she was eliminated in the “quarters” at Wimbledon and is looking forward to the US Open tournament. Halep was awaited with flowers at the airport. Simona Halep left the Wimbledon tournament in the quarterfinals, after being defeated in three sets by Johanna Konta. Simona says, however, that she didn’t make a tragedy out of it, because she has good years ahead in which she can win a Grand Slam tournament “I feel very well, I’m glad that I’m healthy. I still have many years ahead of me, so I’m not sad that I didn’t make it now. I hope I will succeed! Now I will rest a little, I feel some fatigue. But this is my job, and now I’m impatient to play in America” ,  said Simona Halep, quoted by Mediafax.
Simona Halep returned to Romania: “I thought that final point would be repeated” The athlete born in Constanta also spoke about the last point in the match with Johanna Konta, when a spectator shouted from the stands. However, the referee let the game continue and Konta won: “I thought that point from the end would be repeated, that’s what many thought, but if the referee decided that, I had nothing to do”.
Halep says that she is glad that Johanna Konta was eliminated in the semifinals by Venus Williams: “I’m glad that Venus won, it’s incredible what she’s doing at 37 years old.”
