Andy Murray won’t be leaving Novak Djokovic ‘s team as they have decided to work together at least till Wimbledon. Murray would have also loved to experience being in Roger Federer ‘s team as his coach.
The Swiss maestro called time on his career in the 2022 Laver Cup and Murray followed suit after last year’s Paris Olympics. While Federer chose not to do tennis-related work post-retirement, it took Murray about four months to get back on the circuit but as a coach of his long-time rival Djokovic.
In his first coaching stint, Murray guided his protege to the Australian Open semifinals. But Djokovic was forced to call off the match after losing the first set against Alexander Zverevbecause of a muscle tear.
Murray, during the Sporting Misadventures podcast, was asked which one of the Big 3 (Federer, Djokovic, and Rafael Nadal) he would have liked to coach. The Scot explained what it was working with great players of the game like Djokovic before revealing the name.
But I think Roger would have been fun to coach because what he did seemed so natural – I hate to say that because he worked extremely hard – but he had all the shots. You could have asked him to do something and he would have been able to do it.

Murray and Federer were part of many memorable tennis battles, giving each other tough competition whenever they squared off. Federer, however, edges the three-time Grand Slam champion 14-11 in their head-to-head meetings.
