Rică Răducanu was in Rouen, where he was among the almost 1,500 Romanians who cheered for Romania, in the game lost to France , score 2-3. The former great Rapid goalkeeper revealed that, before the match, he had a dialogue with Simona Halep’s father.
Rîca Răducanu revealed that Stere Halep told her that we have secured two points. And so it happened, Simona Halep managing to win both singles matches.
” The Romanian supporters created an extraordinary atmosphere, you said we were at home. You don’t see such a frenetic gallery even in Romania. Simona Halep won two matches for nothing, because we don’t have merchandise. It’s hard without a competitive second racket. Before before the match, Simona’s father told me that we had secured two victories, through his face, but he didn’t know how we would get the third one ,” said Rică Răducanu for Libertatea.

Rică Răducanu is convinced that Romania could win the doubles match and blamed the “lack of luck”.
” However, I had a great chance in doubles, when I led 4-3 in the decisive set, but I was not lucky. The French women hit a few balls. Simona really wanted to play in doubles. I don’t know how , but I think that Segărceanu’s calculations didn’t work out. It’s better to let Buzărnescu play the second singles match, and keep Begu for the doubles ,” said Răducanu.

The former great goalkeeper of Rapid revealed that Ţiriac was surprised to meet him and evoked what the richest Romanian told him.
