The tennis player posted an emotional message on a social network, joining the millions of Romanians who lived with their hearts the confrontation with France from Rouen.
Horia Tecău was impressed by the dedication of all our players, by the fighting spirit, but also by the extraordinary support from the Romanian fans who believed in victory until the last moment.

What I saw at the weekend in Rouen was more than tennis.. ?? It was soul, passion, attitude, dedication, commitment, responsibility. That’s already a big win! ?
As an athlete, I am inspired by the dedication of this team, by the effort of Simona, who took her role as a leader and fought with everything she had! The effort of the whole team!
The coach in me is inspired by Florin Segărceanu’s calmness, commitment and presence! What a team he made!
Some replaced, others injured, living the moment and supporting each other to the end. They wanted to be there for each other. Great deal!
And last but not least, as a supporter, I was inspired by the tireless, unconditional support of a group of ‘huge’ supporters, in Rouen and all over the world.

The team led by captain-non-player Florin Segărceanu will not play any more matches this year. Our girls will reunite at the beginning of 2020 when they play in the first round of the Fed Cup World Group . Simona Halep & Co. they will remain in the Fed Cup World Group and will basically play from the quarter-final stage. Romania will be among the favourites, alongside Australia, Belarus and France . Romania’s possible opponents in the Fed Cup will be the Czech Republic, Germany, Spain or the USA .
