Emma Răducanu, Leylah Fernandez, Sloane Stephens, Sofia Kenin, Victoria Azarenka, Jessica Pegula and Eugenie Bouchard are among the players who will take part in the tournament in America, as the organizers of the competition have already announced.
The Citi Open tournament is part of the WTA 250 category and will be held from July 30 to August 7, 2022.
The last edition of this tournament took place in 2019, before the pandemic, and was won by the American Jessica Pegula, following a final contested in the company of Camila Giorgi.
For Simona Halep, it is the first participation in this tournament. It remains to be seen how the Romanian will do on the hard surface in America.
