Simona Halep: ” I’m really happy that I was able to finish this match “
“I want to thank the audience for coming, it’s really cold here. I’m glad I’m back, last year I didn’t play at Roland Garros, I missed this atmosphere. Even though it was hard, she played very well , I’m glad I won.
In the second set, she hit the balls hard and I didn’t have a reply, but in the end, I stayed focused, I managed to be strong and I’m really happy that I was able to finish this match, because it’s always difficult in the first round. She is a tough and strong opponent,” said Simona Halep to Eurosport.
In the 2nd round, Simona will meet the Chinese Qinwen Zheng (ranked 74th WTA).
- Simona Halep was champion at Roland Garros in 2018.
