Simona Halep, wonderful message for David Popovici after the two gold medals won

Simona Halep (30 years old) spoke about the success of David Popovici, double champion at the World Swimming Championship held in Budapest last week.

Halep also commented on the choice of Popovici, who nominated her as a role model.

“Closer to age, maybe that’s why. He’s a special boy, I’ve seen him in interviews and in everything he does, everything he says. He’s special, bravo to him!”.

Simone’s praise continued:

“He’s already big, we don’t have to talk about the future using ‘if’, because he already is, he’s a champion and he’s a miracle of swimming in our country. I think he’ll be big after all, he’s already big but he’ll be even bigger!”.

Simona Halep  (30 years old, 18th place WTA)  won without problems  in the first round of  Wimbledon . The athlete from Romania passed  Karolina Muchova  (81 WTA), score 6-3, 6-2.

In the next Wimbledon round, Simona will meet Kirsten Flipkens (190th WTA). The Belgium player cruised past Jaimee Fourlis (WTA No. 150) in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2, in her first match at the end of a match that lasted one hour and 43 minutes.

In the first round, Simona Halep will face Karolina Muchova (25 years old), former world number 19 and double quarter-finalist at Wimbledon in 2019 and 2021.
