What Simona Halep said after qualifying for the Transylvania Open final
Simona Halep had a balanced speech after the victory with Kostyuk: “It’s a dream come true for me, I wanted to reach the final. It’s my home tournament, I always play well when I come here. I’m motivated, I’m happy and I barely I’m looking forward to playing the final tomorrow.
It wasn’t easy this match, in our last meeting she didn’t miss much. Today, my serve helped me a lot, and she missed more shots. I have to stay focused for the final. I want to give everything tomorrow, to be aggressive.
Not since the Wimbledon final (no 6-2, 6-2 with Serena Williams) have I dominated a game like I did today. It was a perfect match then. I feel strong here, I always want to play at this level. I won twice in Bucharest, I hope to be lucky again tomorrow.
I won’t have an easy match with Kontaveit, she has played very well so far, she is confident. It’s just one more game, I want to be focused until the end. I’m sorry the fans aren’t here, I think the atmosphere would have been a million times nicer. I hope people send me energy from home, the sweetest victory would be here at home ,” said Halep.
Simona Halep lost only 12 games in the four games played so far at the Transylvania Open.
The Transylvania Open matches are broadcast live on Digi Sport 2 and in live video format on the digisport.ro website, for RCS-RDS subscribers.
