Simona Halep’s chances of defending the title she won last year have increased as several favourites, including Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams, have been eliminated.
This will be the first meeting between Simona Halep and the player who is ranked 104th in the WTA. The player from Poland is in her second career Grand Slam tournament.

” I love Pink Floyd. I also like ABBA, Coldplay, Santana. If I want something more aggressive, I choose ACDC. I listened to “Thunderstruck” before the matches ,” said the athlete from Poland.

The Pole’s best ranking was 88th WTA (April 2019). This season, she participated in a Grand Slam tournament for the first time and defeated Ana Bogdan at the Australian Open in the first round, stopping in the second round.
Accustomed to qualifying in most of the tournaments she participates in, Iga also managed to reach the first WTA final of her career, in Lugano. She was defeated by Polona Hercog after defeating Zavatska, Kuzmova, Lapko and Kristyna Pliskova.
